Established in 1947, B.V. Bhoomaraddi College of Engineering and Technology (BVBCET) has achieved an enviable status due to a strong emphasis on academic and technical excellence.
Currently the College offers 12 UG and 7 PG courses and 5 research centres affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, and is recognised by AICTE, New Delhi.

Spread over a luxurious 50 acres, the picturesque campus comprises of various buildings with striking architecture. Situated on the Pune - Bangalore highway in the city of Hubli, the College is well-connected by road and rail to every major city in the country. From a modest beginning when the college offered only an undergraduate course in Civil Engineering, BVBCET has indeed come a long way. A constant endeavour to keep abreast with technology has resulted in excellent state-of-the-art infrastructure that supplements every engineering discipline. The faculty consists of extremely qualified and dedicated academicians whose commitment to students has resulted in a number of accolades. During the year 2000 – 2001, the students of the College bagged 20 ranks in the Karnataka University Examinations. In the same year, the PG students secured 17 ranks in the Visvesvaraya Technological University Examinations. The College was adjudged ‘Best College of the year’ by the Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology, Bangalore, in the year 2002. The spirit and ethos of BVBCET are reflected in the Vision, Mission and Values that have become the foundation of a multitude of successful careers.

About Pleiades

Throughout the long & undulating history of mankind, man has always looked up at the starry sky with a sense of admiration & intrigue. Someone has said, “Aim for the moon, even if you miss you’ll land among the stars”. Well….welcome to "Pleiades"-A National Level Technical Fest, where we believe that each and every student is a star convergent at B.V.B.C.E.T., Hubli. You can be rest assured that it is going to be dazzling & luminous three days, from March 25th to 27th, 2010.
You will be engrossed with 39 fascinating & thought-provoking events over these three days. More than1500 students, are expected to participate in these events from various parts of the nation.

What does Pleiades mean?
It is a star cluster in the constellation Taurus and is 440 light years away from our home planet. Also known as the seven sisters, it is one of the most visible clusters in the night sky. So much for the story behind the name… Now, what makes this event so special? Well, for starters, the fact that this is for the Second time an event on such a grand scale, at National Level is being held in an Engineering college in the North Karanataka region. And then, this event “is of the students, for the students and by the students” giving us an opportunity to showcase the future of our country on a single platform. The truth, that, this event has been made possible because people have decided to unite to work towards the common goal, which makes this a grand chapter in the glorious heritage of our college.
